When you are looking to get a child started in cricket, there are a
number of equipment options to consider, all of which offer a great way
to begin a journey in the sport. We have everything from the absolute
basics like a simple ball or bat to full cricket starter sets including
protection like pads and gloves.
What you need first
The first pieces of equipment to consider are a bat and ball. Our
junior bats come in various sizes so you can find one to suit your
child at any age. They are generally recommended for ages five and up,
although it will depend on the individual. The balls are made of softer
materials than traditional cricket balls, such as rubber, and they are
suitable for either indoor or outdoor use.
We also have several sets that come with their own carry case or bag.
This means they can be neatly stored away or taken on a family day out
or a trip to the beach to enjoy.
Getting more advanced
If your children are ready to take a step up or you simply want to give
them as much kit as possible when starting out, you may want to
consider one of our full cricket starter sets.
These range from those with bat, ball and stumps, allowing you to play
a full game in the garden, to more advanced options. For example, we
have sets including gloves and pads to offer greater protection while
playing. Again, many of these sets come with a holdall so they can be
kept tidy at home and are easily transported when it's time to set up
We are confident that you will be able to find the right package to get
your youngsters started and help them build a lifelong love of the
