With fans set to return to venues across the UK, the 2022 Vitality Netball Superleague will see 11 netball teams battle it out in one of the most exciting and competitive leagues yet, to win the trophy and be crowned the 2022 VNSL Champions.
What is the Vitality Netball Superleague?
The Vitality Netball Superleague is an elite level netball competition in the United Kingdom. It includes 11 netball teams from England, Scotland and Wales and usually starts in February running through to June/July.
Due to a lack of competitions for elite netball players, the Vitality Netball Superleague was originally formed in 2005 with just eight teams from the United Kingdom. Over the years this has expanded to the 11 teams we have today.
Overall, there have been 6 different champions in the first 15 years of the Vitality Netball Superleague. These include Team Bath, Saracens Mavericks, Manchester Thunder, Surrey Storm, Wasps and Loughborough Lightning.
2022 Vitality Netball Superleague
The 2022 Vitality Netball Superleague will start on February 5th with a traditional double-header season opener weekend, jam-packed with elite level netball games. Last year’s Vitality Netball Superleague champions, Loughborough Lightning will kick-start the event against London Pulse at Birmingham’s Resorts World Arena.
10 games will take place across the season opener weekend; these games will be shown live on Sky Sports and on the Sky Sports YouTube channel. Broadcast details for the rest of the Vitality Netball Superleague 2022 season, including home and away matches, will be announced closer to the start of the season.
The 2022 Vitality Netball Superleague ‘Grand Final’ will be held on June 5th.
